Custom Refinishing & Restoration Services
Bring Your Piece Back to Life
Some furniture is worth saving. Maybe it's been in your family for generations. Maybe you found it at an estate sale and saw something no one else did. Maybe it just needs the right color to finally feel like home.
At The Marian Collection, we accept a limited number of custom refinishing, restoration, and furniture transformation projects for clients who want expert hands on something they already own and love. Every project receives the same rigorous process — what we call the Adam treatment — that we apply to every piece in our own collection.
About the Service
We work with vintage, antique, and solid wood furniture across a range of finishes and techniques. Each project is assessed individually — no two pieces are the same, and we don't treat them that way.
Services include:
- Full refinishing in paint or enamel — matte, satin, or semi-gloss
- Strip, stain, and topcoat restoration — returning wood to its natural beauty
- Structural repair and surface preparation
- Custom color consultation — we help you find the right finish for your piece and your space
- Hardware replacement and sourcing
- Upholstery referrals for pieces that need fabric work
Pricing
Project pricing varies based on the size of the piece, the extent of repair needed, and the finish you choose. Paint and enamel projects are priced differently from strip-and-stain work, and material costs for specialty finishes are factored in individually.
We provide a detailed quote after an initial consultation. There are no surprise charges — everything is agreed upon before work begins.
We are based in Jacksonville, FL and work with clients within 100 miles. Projects beyond that range are considered on a case-by-case basis — reach out and we'll discuss logistics and any additional costs.
Turnaround Time
Most paint and enamel projects are completed within approximately two weeks from the time work begins. Strip, stain, and topcoat projects do not carry a fixed timeline — dry times are sensitive to weather conditions, humidity, and the specific wood material involved. We do not rush these projects. The finish is worth the wait, and we'll keep you informed throughout.
How It Works
- Submit your project inquiry — tell us about your piece, what you're envisioning, and share photos if you have them
- Consultation & quote — we'll assess the piece, discuss finish options, and provide a detailed project quote
- Secure your spot — a 50% deposit is required to reserve your place in the workshop. This confirms your project and covers initial materials
- The work begins — your piece receives the full Adam treatment: assessed, prepared, repaired, and finished with care
- Delivery or pickup — we coordinate return of your piece within our service area. Pickup in Jacksonville is always available
What We Ask of You
We take on a limited number of projects at a time — this is intentional. It means your piece gets our full attention, not a production line. In return, we ask that clients come to the process with a clear vision (or an openness to collaborate on one), realistic expectations about natural timelines, and an appreciation for the craft involved.
We are not a furniture repair shop. We are craftspeople who happen to restore furniture — and there's a difference.
